The Reverend Dr. Thelma Gilbert is the author of "Healed From A Bent Condition", published on January 6,
2016. Dr. Thelma Gilbert was ordained into the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ in 1986.

She is recognized as a competent, qualified and well-trained teacher, leader, pastor and servant.  She is well
prepared, disciplined, cheerful and confident.  Thelma is known as an advocate for people of all ages who are
oppressed, suffering, and heartbroken from the many social ills of our society. As an acclaimed teacher, seminar
speaker, and preacher, Pastor Gilbert God given gifts, talents, and services are sought not only within the state
of Connecticut but across the United State.

She graduated from the Hartford Seminary 's Black Ministries Certificate Program in Hartford Ct. Dr. Gilbert  
received her Bachelor of Theology Degree from Springfield Christian Bible Seminary Association, Springfield
Mass, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services from New Hampshire College, Manchester NH, a Master
of Arts Degree in Lay Ministries from Hartford Seminary, Hartford CT, and a Doctor of Divinity Degree from
Springfield Christian Bible Seminary Association, Springfield  Mass.  Pastor Gilbert served one-year internship in
Clinical Pastoral Counseling at the West Hartford Counseling Center West Hartford, CT. She completed
Advance Classes in Clinical Pastoral Counseling offered by Saint Francis Hospital.

She is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Pastoral Resource Ministries, Inc. (PRM) of Bloomfield, CT
and former pastor of The Living Word Worship Center of Bloomfield CT.

Dr. Gilbert is a former employee of the Department of Social Services in Windsor CT, and the Village for
Families and Children in Hartford, CT. She is a former employee of the University of Connecticut School of
Social Work.  She held the position of Organizational Skill & Development Consultant and Project Manager for
the Office of Organizational and Skills Development Department for the State of Connecticut Department of
Social Services.

As former president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Hartford CT  (1987 -1989), the Northends
Agent a Hartford local newspaper, published many of Dr. Gilbert's articles on various topics under the title "The
Alliance Speaks."  During the year 2005, the same newspaper serving the Hartford area and vicinity published
more of Pastor Gilbert articles entitled "A Missionary Thrust" for the sick and shut-ins.

Dr. Gilbert served as host and keynote speaker of Pastoral Resource Ministries Radio Broadcast, WNEZ 1480
AM during 2005 - 2006.

Achievements and Awards:
1987 - First Woman President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Great Hartford
1996 - First Woman Pastor voted into full membership of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention
1997 - Recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the Greater Hartford Club of the National Association of Negro
Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc
2000 - Significant Ministry Award by Hartford Seminary
2003 - Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sons of Thunder Coalition
2011 - The Martin Luther King Drum Major Award by the Interdenominational Alliance of Greater Hartford.

Pastor Gilbert is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She has two children and five grandchildren.

One of her favorite scriptures is - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
